Graceful Victorian necklace, featuring matte enamel plaques depicting two water birds. The plaques are suspended from delicate 9 carat chains set with four seed pearls. The top ovoid plaque features a bird standing in a marshy landscape, flanked by a fence on one side and bulrushes on the other. The bottom drop features a duck swimming among bulrushes. Very good condition: suspending rings show evidence of repair: reverse of bottom plaque shows two hairlines (which don’t go through), probably from firing. Chain measures 17”; pendant is 2 1/4”.
