Ornate 19th century Russian silver gilt chatelaine, with pierced scrolls, cherubs, heads and hands throughout. The hinged clip features a relief casting of an eagle, a cherub with cymbals riding on his back, set with a central pearl. The central chain is comprised of six links, two hinged and set with amethyst colored faceted stones, two set with pearls, one in the form of a nude female torso, all terminating in a hook in the form of a ringed hand. The left side chain features six links: a cherub with cymbals, a man’s head, scrolls set with a pearl, two cherubs (one riding on the back of a mermaid), all terminating in a hand. The right side chain also features six links: a cherub playing drums, a man’s head, scrolls set with a pearl, two cherubs (one riding on the back of a mermaid), all terminating in a hand suspending an eagle and cherub watch key. Very good condition; two pearls are chipped. Measures 10 1/2”.
