Coin silver master sauce boat, Lows, Ball & Co., Boston, Massachusetts (.1840-1846), 6-3/16" long bowl (6-15/16" over handle), 5-1/4" tall to top of handle, 4-1/4" tall at spout, large deep bowl with narrow pouring spout, scalloped rim, three 11-lobed shell feet with large 12-lobed shell terminals, heavy cast S-shaped handle with acanthus leaf grip, Old English monogram "L" over "F + S" on one side of body and lion head crest on other side, script inscription "From H. J. July 20th 1848." underneath bowl, marked underneath "LOWS, BALL & CO." and "Sterling Silver" (script), each in a rectangular punch, very heavy.
