A Very Rare/Fine Korean B/W Slip Inlaid/Iron Black Painted Celadon Cup-12th C.:
Korea, Koryo dynasty, 12th century.
This one is a quite large cup as a same type of celadon cups, the round sides rising
to a slightly incurved rim, the exterior sanggan-inlaid with four chrysanthemum springs
below a white slip inlaid keyfret border, and interior painted in iron black
with stylized three plants, and one red spot placed with copper-red in the interior well intentionally or accidently?, ,rising on a raised glazed foot ring with three spur marks,
applied overall with a glossy greenish celadon glaze.
It’s very fine condition without any chips or repairs at all but some celadon glaze
covered unevenly as a dots and unglazed due to that.
It measurs 10.7cm d. x 5.7cm h. (4.28” x 2.3”).
