A Very Rare, Large, Fine Korean Pottery Bottle with Characters (명문명)-11th C.: Korean, Koryo dynasty, 11th to 14th century. Incised Characters. A well potted with a ring to the neck, and quite large baluster shape of a pottery incised with two characters on the base, an unusual one hole to the near shoulder that is for an air flow or to control its liquid polling out presumably but not quite clear what is for the simple hole, and neither the characters are, pottered with a pure greyish black clay. It’s in very fine condition, it measures 12.5” h. (32cm h). *** An almost identical kudica bottles see a collection of Dr. A.G. Poulsen-Hansen, British Museum, and a collection of Yonsei University Museum, Seoul, published in Orientation, Dec. 1992. P 52, fig.7 &9.
