A Very Rare/Fine/Large Korean Buddhist Wood Carved Big Fish (木魚 )-19th C. Korea, Joseon dynasty, 19th century. The very rare, large solid hard wood carved fish for Buddhist Temple. its surfaces have large scales, tales and head holding pearls, body applied with thick dark and red-black natural pigments overall, two holes each for hanging. It is very fine condition but some natural dark/red pigments pilled off. It measures 135cm x 37cm h. (51" x 14.5"), weight: 60lbs. respectively. *** 목어 ( 木 魚 ): 범종(梵鐘) · 법고(法鼓) · 운판(雲板) 등과 함께 불전사물(佛殿四物)에 속하며, 목어고(木魚鼓) · 어고(魚鼓) · 어판(魚板)이라고도 불린다.
