An Inlaid Celadon Cosmetic Box and Cover:
Koryo Dynasty, 12th Century
This is an unusual circular box and cover inlaid in black and white slip with black dots
in the white inlaid circles between two white inlaid lines,
the domed cover with wide and flat top is also inlaid in black and white
slip with a single chrysanthemum medallion centered by unusual stylized lotus leaves.
It is covered with grayish green celadon glaze evenly over all.
It bears three spur marks and label on the bottom.
It has numerous minor repairs of the inner rim, otherwise
it is in very good condition.
Measures 3 3/8” x 1 1/2” h.
