A Fine and Large Silver Inlaid Iron Box and Cover:
Korea, Choson dynasty, 19th century,
This is a large silver inlaid tobacco box with lid,
it is round set on three stump feet inlaid on the upright sides with 2
“double happiness” characters on each opposite side separated by square panels
of confronted butterflies and two crossed flags, the slightly domed cover also
inlaid in silver with a character “long life” and around with bats.
It is in very good condition without any typical damages (has only minimal normal damages related with old age)
It measures: 4” high and 5 ¾” diameter.
