A Large Copper-Red Peach-Form Water Dropper:
Korea, Late Choson period, 19th Century,
This is a very finely molded as a large peach with two upright leaves carved
in relief to the body and incised with short lines to delineate veins, the lively
stem of the peach also molded in relief to the body and arranged in a waved
stem to served as the base support, painted in underglaze copper-red with
four peach flowers on the body, applied overall with a blue tinged white glaze
except footed stem, It has a water spout tip repaired, otherwise it is in fine
condition. It measures 4 1/4” h. x 3 1/4” d. (10.8cm x 8.3cm)
