A Very Rare and Fine Inlaid Celadon Cup and Cover:
Korea, Koryo period, 12th -13th century,
It is a very rare as a Koryo celadon inlaid
cylindrical shaped cup and cover(lid) without any damage, and decorated in black and
white inlaid with a chrysanthemum in a geometric square design in the double lined on
the circular body set on a recessed foot, and also the lid is inlaid with 4 chrysanthemum
florets in black and white slip under fine clear bluish grey celadon glaze.
This type of cylindrical cup with lid is known as a medicine container.
Except for some part of its bottom oxidized, it is in good condition with no chip, no repair. 3 7/8” h. x 2 ½” d.
