A Large and Rare Chinese Embroidered 4 Dragon Panel:
China, Qing period, 19th Century
This is very unusual large embroidered panel with 5 clawed 4 golden dragons,
well-woven dark blue satin ground embroidered with gilt-wrapped threads
that form the four golden dragons and a flaming pearl surrounded by cloud scrolls, auspicious emblems and unusual flower heads worked in brightly colored silk threads above a very dense three tier lishui and waves with flower heads border, its backing is a dark yellow silk lining.
It is in vey good condition without any noticeable damages at all (only back lining sewing stitches loosen between front panel and backing lining edges)), and it has original hanging knots attached on the back lining.
Measurements: 185.5cm x 101cm (73” x 39 3/4”).
