Cover for tanto (short sword) or other item made of animal skin and coated with urushi. It has the crest of "Roku-mon-sen" meaning six coins which is the crest of Sanada clan. In the clan, Sanada Yukimura is especially known for a genius strategist of war. He challenged his arch enemy Tokugawa for his lord Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 17th century. The lining is thin silk cloth.
