Fragment of Edo kosode, womans kimono whose ground cloth is rinzu (figured silk). It has embroidered flowers and kata-kanoko which is katazome (stencil-resist-dyeing) imitating small round shibori pattern called "kanoko-shibori". It has wear and holes. Edo period. 31cm x 26cm Framed with paper.

Yu-age which is made of indigo dyed cotton with tsutsuhaki auspicious motif. There was a custom in San-in district when married daughter had a baby, her parents prepared items such as yu-age (towel), ko-oi-obi (baby sling), mutsuki (diaper) and ashi-fuki (foot towel). Sakkuri which is handwoven of hemp thread for warps and "okuso" for wefts. Okuso is by-product when hemp thread is made. It is not strong enough for warps. "O" means hemp and "kuso" means waste.
