Silk kimono worn on the stage of Kyogen which is a traditional short comedic drama. It is often performed with Noh drama. The kimono is made of thin plain silk with katazome lattice pattern and brush dye for green parts. The lining is pongee silk. The dye is all vegetable and sumi. Korean wrapping cloth, chogappo which is made of asa (ramie or hemp) and dyed with indigo. Both wefts and warps are hand-plied. The frame cloth and the belts are cotton which are renewed. Korean wrapping cloth, chogappo which is made of recycled figured silk fragments which are from 19th or early 20th century. All hand sewn. "Pojagi" is a general name for wrapping cloth and "chogappo" is one kind of pojagi which is patchwork with silk as well as asa ( reference source: "Korean Embroidery and Wrapping Cloths from the Choson Dynasty" published by Japan Art & Culture Association in 1995 ). In good condition but one belt is replaced and has some stains and minor color bleeding parts....

Rare item. Yazutsu (quiver) made of "koyori" which is twisted washi (Japanese handmade paper) strings. The crafts made of koyori and coated with urushi were called "Kami-Nagato" and they were popular handicrafts in Edo period, such as tabacco cases, bowls and sake containers in hyotan shape and so on. It has 15 arrows made of bamboo but feathers are worn out. The quiver is in excellent condition. The 19th century. L:94cm Diameter:7.5cm
