Sakiori sodenashi (vest) whose wefts are recycled strips torn from old cotton kimono, futonji and so on. The warps are asa (hemp). The sakiori textiles were mostly made in the regions along the Japan Sea side where the cold weather made it hard to cultivate cotton.
