The name has been succeeded for a 100 years, but which generation is not clear. It has cotton lining. In excellent condition except for a minor cut in the corner. Cotton Yamato kasuri cloth produced in Yamato region in Nara prefecture. The warps and wefts are machine-spun but the cloth is hand-woven. It used to be the man's kimono, unseamed and washed (toki-mono). This is a hakama ( pants ) which is hand woven of kudzu fibers for wefts and cotton threads for warps. Kudzu-fu was mostly produced in Kakegawa in Shizuoka prefecture in late Edo.
