Vest made of tiny bamboo beads and all hand-strung with cotton threads. It was worn till early 20th century (Quin Dynasty) as an underwear of silk garments, especially in the southern China or neighboring countries. It made a wearer keep cool and avoid the outer garment wetting by sweat. Generally in good condition but almost 30 beads are missing. 19th to early 20th century. 48cm x 52cm

Asa (hemp) baby's kimono with kasuri pattern which is made in Omi near Kyoto and called Omi-kasuri. Weft kasuri threads are dyed with board-clamp dye. It has se-mamori in the back which is a charm with stitches and this one is boy's kimono as they are in the left as well as in the center (girl's one is in the right). Cover for tanto (short sword) or other item made of animal skin and coated with urushi. It has the crest of "Roku-mon-sen" meaning six coins which is the crest of Sanada clan. In the clan, Sanada Yukimura is especially known for a genius strategist of war. He challenged his arch enemy Tokugawa for his lord Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 17th century. The lining is thin silk cloth. This is a han-bakama worn at the Kyogen which is the comical play performed together with the no drama but it is sometimes performed alone. This han-bakama is made of asa ( hemp ) with various round crests which is called "Kyogen-mon" and mostly they symbolize treasures. Bamboo basket container coated with urushi. It is handwoven of bamboo strips and covered with washi (Japanese handmade papaer), and then painted with black urushi. It has a label inside which says "Kataji kawago" which used to be a basket made of bamboo or wicker and covered with deer skin, or covered with washi later.
