Shina tree grows almost all the mountains in Japan, from Hokkaido to Kyushu. It is hand-plied and hand-woven. It has some stains, breaks and unraved parts. Cotton girl's juban (under kimono) for furisode (formal kimono) with katazome pattern. It is called beni-itajime which is one kind of board-clamped dyeing with benibana (safflower).
