A pair of wooden lacquer plates with hand-painted Daruma (Bodhidharma) who is the founder of the Zen, a sect of Buddhism. The gold daruma and the daruma doll are hand-carved. In excellent condition except for a tiny chip (1.5mm) on the rim of one of the plates and a very slight hair line on the surface of the other. Diameter:17cm, H:4cm The first half of the 20th century.

Roll of cotton cloth with Taiten shibori. The warps for shortening are woven as the cloth is woven. The cloth makes gathering as the warps are shortened and dyed.
