These are plates with hand-painted Kenzan style design of autumn flowers such as chrysanthemums and balloon flowers. They have kanji letters "Kenzan" in the back. Ogata Kenzan ( 1663~1743 ) was a potter as well as a Rinpa school painter. He was a younger brother of Ogata Korin who was a prominent painter and a founder of Rinpa school painting.
