Very rare and unusual item. The insteps are made of rice straw, The soles are hemp rope studded with nails, the inner soles have thin hairy animal skin and cotton velvet straps. The strap divides toes inside. The piping is made of cotton. Generally in good condition but not good for practical use. The first half of the 20th century. L:24cm W:8.5cm H:7.5cm

Woman's noragi which is domestically handwoven of handspun cotton. The outside is fine brown checks and stripes in the indigo blue ground. The basting thread is hemp. It has cotton velvet in the sleeves. In excellent condition. Late 19th to mid 20th century. 122cm x 75cm
