These are plates with hand-painted Kenzan style design of autumn flowers such as chrysanthemums and balloon flowers. They have kanji letters "Kenzan" in the back. Ogata Kenzan ( 1663~1743 ) was a potter as well as a Rinpa school painter. He was a younger brother of Ogata Korin who was a prominent painter and a founder of Rinpa school painting. They collaborated in some of potteries. Kenzan style potteries with "Kenzan" sign have been made in large number till these days. Late 19th to mid 20th century. In excellent condition without any chip or flaw. Diameter:18.8cm Height:3cm
