Negoro-nuri large tray made of wood. Negoro-nuri was originally made in Kishu (Wakayama and the southern part of Mie Pref.) by Buddhist monks between 13th and 16th century. It was made for their daily use such as trays, plates and bowls. The feature of Negoro-nuri is vermilion urushi, functional and simple design. Also, the more used, the more under painted black urush comes out. In excellent condition except a tiny chip. 20th century. With an original box written as "made by Heian" Diameter:35.5cm Height:5cm
