Silk gauze obi (sash) cloth with shibori (tie-dye) pattern. It is vegetable dye with "shikon (root of purple grass)" that had been producd in Aomori and Akita prefecture till Edo period, however it was disappeared in Meiji. It was reproduced in late Taisho period (1920). This sash is for summer kimono. In good condition except for two slits (in the both rim (not from weakness but from original making). The first half of the 20th century. 35cm x 3m90cm
