Yumihari-chochin (portable lantern) made of wood for a brace. The lantern is made of bamboo strips, washi (Japanese handmade paper) painted with kaki-shibu (persimmon tannin) and thin wood and iron. Yumi means "bow" as the brace looks like it. In good condition but the kaki-shibu paper has some rips in the upper part. The second half of the 19th century. H:46cm Diameter:20cm
