Futonji made of hand-spun cotton with katazome (stencil-resist-dye) butterfly motif and dyed with natural indigo. The dye technique is called "Ai-gaeshi" which is dyeing with lighter ai (indigo) after the first dyeing to make it more muted color. In excellent condition except for two mending patches (3cm x 1cm, 2mm x 2mm). Late 19th to early 20th century. 33cm x 186cm
