Large bag made of washi (handmade paper) and kaki-shibu (persimmon juice) painted. It is for containing cocoons used where sericulture was active such as Nagano, Yamanashi, South Tohoku etc. from Meiji to early Showa period (from the scond half of the 19th to early 20th century.) In good condition with nice mending patches. The second half of the 19th century. 73cm x 131cm
