Kaji-zukin (fireman's hood) made of vegetable indigo dye cotton with hand-stitched sashiko. Sashiko threads is also indigo dyed cotton. Judging from the logo in the front panel, hiragana "To" shows it belongs to the "To" brigade of the number 10-kumi (group 10). Edo hikeshi had "I-Ro-Ha 47 groups. Water is poured over hood, hanten, gloves and so on before a fireman entered fire site. The second half of the 19th century. In excellent condition. Width when folded:42cm, Length:56cm
