This is a gorgeous bizen flower vase (hana-ire) made by Matsushima Hiroshi ( 1960~ ) who won a prize of Japan Art Crafts Association and many prizes also. This hana-ire has beautiful yo-hen ( discoloration of ceramic ware ). Bizen ware has a history of one thousand years and its feature is that it is burnt long time without glaze with high-heat, so that it causes natural and attractive discoloration in a kiln. In excellent condition with an original signed wooden box. Height 34.5cm 13.6" Diameter of the top 9.5cm 3.7" Diameter of the bottom 13cm 5.1"
