This is a tsugi ( patched ) juban ( under kimono ) made of many kinds of silk such as plain silk with fine katazome ( stencil-dyeing ), silk crepe with katazome and silk crepe with katazome and embroidery which is recycled from Edo kosode. Edo kosode is a kimono worn by a woman in Edo period. In good condition except for a mending patch ( 5cm ) and some of embroidered threads are lost in the both sleeves and dirty line in the neck part. Early Meiji period ( ca. late 19th C ) 124cm x 148cm 48.8" x 58.3"
