A rare tazza or flatware stem dish is from the ancient Ban Chiang culture of Thailand. It is well over two thousand years old and guaranteed authentic. The tarra is covered in a dense network of calcified roots, and is without any repairs. Almost all artifacts from this region have been restored to some degree, but due to the petrified and calcified roots, it leaves little doubt that this one is original and intact. There is a chip on the underside that measures 2” (5.1 cm) that has been clearly enlarged in the photo. In excellent condition, it measures 5.5" high x 8" diameter (14 cm x 20.3 cm)
