Unique transformed body, covered with Irabo glaze of Korean Joseon style, designed with silver grass of abstract Iron-picture, as a Japanized Irabo chawan of Seto-made, dates back to Late Edo period, 19th century.
Tasteful feeling of slightly rough texture and comfortable feeling of hold. Fine antique condition as is, with repair for crack at mouth edge.
Attached with old wrapping cloth, and damaged wooden box with sign, - as "No.6 Ko Seto chawan, Silver grass picture" / "Possessed in July of kaei kinoetora (1854 as numeral of sexagenary cycle), Irabo chawan, by Gyokusen, Chief priest of Branch temple"
