Early Edo period, early-mid 17th century

D: 4.9-4.5cm (1.92-1.77in), H: 3cm (1.18in)

Naturally-distorted Shoki-Imari ('Early Imari') white porcelain sake cup. Sensitive thin make and tasteful feeling of "raw and warm" skin of non-biscuit ('namagake') porcelain as the original. Arranged to be grinded off the extra stuck ('hittsuki') of body as the elaborate smooth finishing by its predecessor, and turning to the unique white landscape as the successful result. In fine antique condition for this type, as comfortable practical use.
