Authentic Ancient Romano-Egyptian Coptic Christian Wooden Doll in a Cruciform design. Facial features, breasts and belly button indicated by small circular depressions carved into wood. Hair indicated by parallel lines cut into top of head. Back carved slightly convex to fit nicely into the hand making this a very tactile object. Rare Authentic Ancient Egyptian Wooden Carved and Painted figure of a trussed sacrificial cow from a tomb model or foundation deposit. c. 2055 - 1650 B.C. Surface painted in red with patterns of cow skin painted in white and details of face, legs, hooves, eye etc in black. Similar unpainted example catalogued in the W.
