Made of grey pottery, covered with a white layer of paint, decorated with bright red and black pigments. Figures of this very large size are rare and were only made for royalty and high nobility. The figure was made in two parts, the head was connected with the body by a wooden pin, which is of course now gone and replaced by a carboard roll. A very rare scholar's item. Made of pewter, inlaid with brass panels which are finely engraved with flowers, birds and animals. The handle has its original winding. There is a mark on the lid which says: ' made by Yang of Yung Hsing' and the name of the city: ' Ping Yee'. Apart from the normal age wear this teapot is in a wonderful condition. H. 24 cm. Qianlong (1736-1795). Provenance: collected in Beijing in the late 1990's and since then in my private collection.

Octagonal silver tray embossed and engraved with Chinese figures in a garden with pavillions around a pond. On the left there is a phoenix, at the top there is a dragon. The tray measures 32 x 23,5 cm and weighs 823 grams. It is made of high quality silver, according to the acid test that we did. It has a very strong oxidation. Possibly an excavated piece. Mid Qing, 18th to early 19th century. Provenance: collected in Beijing in 1995, since then in my private collection.
