A very finely carvedI do-Portuguese panel depicting the virgin Mary being crowned by the holy trinity: Jesus Christ on the left, God on the right and the Holy Spirit in the middle. The virgin Mary is surrounded by clouds and putti. The panel is flanked by flower branches growing from a vase. Dimensions: H. 47 cm, W. 32 cm. Condition: expected age wear, remains of polychromy, a few missing parts (holy spirit and the left arm of God) and restorations.

Comes with the original Christie's sticker, the original certificate and the invoice from 1992. The Vung Tau sank in 1690 on its way from China to Batavia, Indonesia. The cargo was meant for Amsterdam. The wreck was found in the early 90's and it's content was auctioned at Christie's Amsterdam in 1992...
