An important early bronze Krishna in Ganga-Jumna technique,a very complicated casting process using two types of bronze. This technique is now lost. H. 18 cm. A very rare scholar's item. Made of pewter, inlaid with brass panels which are finely engraved with flowers, birds and animals. The handle has its original winding. There is a mark on the lid which says: ' made by Yang of Yung Hsing' and the name of the city: ' Ping Yee'. Apart from the normal age wear this teapot is in a wonderful condition. H. 24 cm. Qianlong (1736-1795). Provenance: collected in Beijing in the late 1990's and since then in my private collection.
