The lid with a sage or immortal holding a book, the handles in the shape of mythical animals, the body decorated with dragons and clouds, the censer is carried by three kneeling boys. There is a signature at the bottom. Dimensions: H. 37 cm, W. 32 cm, D. 18 cm. Weight ca. 10 kg. Meiji period (1868-1912). Very good condition and wonderful patina. From a Dutch private collection.

The kayak made of carved wood, coverd with seal skin and lined with bone. The peddler made of wood, skin and fabric. What makes this model so special is that all the fishing/hunting devices are still present: a folding knife, harpoons, peddle and other equipment. A very unusual piece that I've never seen before. Possibly this lamp was made as an advertising piece for a lamp shop, or maybe it was used in an opium kit. The foot has decorations in reliëf, covered with enamels. H. 25 cm (10 inch), D. 21 cm (8,5 inch). Condition: two minor chips to the enamel. The glass seems to be original.

Lovely late Qing purse, decorated on both sides with butterflies, insects, fruits and flowers on a golden ground. The original silk carrying strap contains beads in white metal (not silver) and coral colored glass beads. The purse 11,5 x 11,5 cm. Total length with strap 64 cm. Diameter of the glass beads 1,7 cm. Good condition, apart from fading. Provenance: Dutch private collection.

Elaborate headdress or part of a headdress, used by young girls during a harvest dance (niambai). The lower part is made of thick plate silver, from there three poles of woven silver wire go up and end in a wild bush of wire with silver and cotton ornaments at the end. H. 30 cm, W. 33 cm. Very good condition. This piece can be dated in the 19th to very early 20th century which makes it very rare.
