Necklace made of 13 carnelian and 14 enamelled silver beads, each ca. 2 cm. long. There are 52 small silver beads between the large ones. At the bottom two dragons chasing the flaming pearl. Hanging on 2 lingzi hooks there is a silver pendant in the shape of a boy riding a qilin, a fertility symbol. At the bottom of the pendant 2 turquoise beads and 2 carnelian flowers. While most Tang figures were made of red pottery, this one is made of a much finer white pottery. This can be seen in the fine details and facial features of this eunuch. A rare and complete group of an ox and carriage in grey pottery with remains of polychrome. China, Tang Dynasty (618-907). The result of the thermoluminescence test by Kotalla is consistent with the dating of this lot. The report is included in the sale. Dimensions: the carriage H. 32 cm, L. 23 cm, the ox H. 18 cm, L. 23 cm. Condition: very good, no visible repairs, although repairs on early pottery are quite common and accepted.
