Elaborate headdress or part of a headdress, used by young girls during a harvest dance (niambai). The lower part is made of thick plate silver, from there three poles of woven silver wire go up and end in a wild bush of wire with silver and cotton ornaments at the end. H. 30 cm, W. 33 cm. Very good condition. This piece can be dated in the 19th to very early 20th century which makes it very rare.

Rare iron helmet covered with black lacquer, inlaid with mother of pearl. At the front there is a 'Mon', a family crest. The inside is lacquered in red and bears the name of the owner. He original linen attachment loops are still present. Diameter 37 cm, H. 16 cm. Condition: minor chips at the rim, a few pieces of mother of pearl are missing. Overall in very good condition considering the age and the material. Meiji period (1868-1912).

On the back of the stand there is an inscription : This is a statue (or carving) or Kwanyin, for Mr. Wang (??)'s wife, Mrs. Chao (??). 2nd day, 4th month Daoguang 10th year (1830 A.D.). Condition: usual age wear, loss of gilding, the ribbon from the crown at the right side is missing. H. 23 cm.

This type of chests was used on board of ships and contained documents, brushes etc. the wood has a beautiful grain and the iron hardware is very detailed. These boxes are sometimes called 'face box', because of the face that can be seen in the hardware. Dimensions: 30x23x21 cm. Very good condition, only the back panel of a drawer has been replaced.
