With fine engraving of two dragons around a shou (long life) character. There is a hallmark on the back. Dimensions: 29 x 16 cm. Weight: 225 gr. Very good condition. Late 19th/early 20th century. According to the last owner this is an opium tray, but I’m not sure about this.
These masks once served as handles, either on a bronze vessel or on a wooden door inside a tomb. Wonderful green patina with traces of gilding. They are mounted on museum quality patinated brass stands. H. 7,5 and 7 cm excl. stand. Han Dynasty (206BC-220AD).
