While most Tang figures were made of red pottery, this one is made of a much finer white pottery. This can be seen in the fine details and facial features of this eunuch. H. 27 cm.Condition: very good, no visible repairs, although repairs on early pottery are quite common and accepted. Minor chips to the bottom of the foot. The figure comes with a custom made black stand. Provenance: Dutch private collection. Collected in the 1990's.

A rare and complete group of an ox and carriage in grey pottery with remains of polychrome. China, Tang Dynasty (618-907). The result of the thermoluminescence test by Kotalla is consistent with the dating of this lot. The report is included in the sale. Dimensions: the carriage H. 32 cm, L. 23 cm, the ox H. 18 cm, L. 23 cm. Condition: very good, no visible repairs, although repairs on early pottery are quite common and accepted. The figure was made in two parts, the head was connected with the body by a wooden pin, which is of course now gone and replaced by a carboard roll.
