Bengali Venugopala (Krishna), 18th century. H. 19 cm. Made of bronze, the eyes inlaid with silver. As often seen on early Krishna statues the flute is missing. 5he figure has been handled and worshipped a lot, resulting in a wonderful patina.

A rectangular repoussé box, decorated with peony, floral sprays and Buddhist symbols. The sides decorated with meanders, the back with floral motives and a ‘Shou’ character, symbolizing longevity. Both sides of the box have gilded details. Dimensions: 10 x 8,5 x 4,5 cm. Weight: 242 g. The box is in very good condition and has normal age wear. Date: 19th to early 20th century.

Rare purse , made of leather, brass and silver, with lotus, sea creatures and makala design. Inlaid with coral. Dimensions: the purse alone 13x9,5 cm, including leather strap and sash 45 cm. Condition: very good age wear and patina, one of the sea creatures is missing its tail.

A very rare and early example with its original polychrome and clear traces of long time use. Note the glossy patina on the back of the mask. Rare and large bronze shrine. The central figure is a Jina or Tirthankara. He is surrounded by small Jina's on the back plate.
Each of the 24 Tirthankaras is represented by an animal or a symbol. There is an engraved animal on the foot of this shrine, but it is hard to distinguish which animal it is. The shrine is in an excellent condition, all three parts belong together, there are no repairs. It has a clean appearance due to the daily worshipping and washing tradition in Jainism...
