An excavated bronze bracelet with antropomorphic figures, decorated with bronze bells. H. 13,5 cm, diameter 9 cm. Condition: this is an archaeological artefact with expected damage to the bronze and a few misding bells. Provenance: collected in situ in the 1960’s by W. Häusler, Thurgau, Switzerland, Hammer Auktionen, Basel, Switzerland.These richly decorated bracelets belonged to the ceremonial outfits of rulers, priests and Oshugbo members in Ijebu. Excavations in Ijebu-Ode confirm that some of these bracelets were made before the 18th century.
