Oil or acrylic painting on canvas, 30" by 20", unframed, (with name and other information on the reverse) by the well listed Australian aboriginal artist ANNA PRICE PETYARRE (birth dates given as 1960, 1962, and 1965--). This is most unusual for art of its type in that the work is in crisp blue and white only. From askart: "....home is Atneltyeye, Boundary Bore, on the Utopia Homelands, approximately 220 km from Alice Springs. She lives there with her family. She is a grandmother with five grandchildren. Anna, whose mother was the late artist Glory Ngale, has painted since her early childhood. She is related to the esteemed Aboriginal artists Emily Kame Kngwarreye and Kudditji Kngwarreye through her grandfather, who was a brother of Emily and Kudditji's father". Petyarre's works have sold at auction in Australia and Europe, into four figures. This painting is in excellent condition. I do not know if the artist's intent was a vertical format, or a horizontal one........I imagine the buyer could choose his or her preference. Either way, this is a striking work of art.
