Oil on canvas of a Mediterranean harbor with whitewashed buildings and red roofs, small fishing craft and figures in the foreground, circa 1945, by the listed French artist DOMINIQUE MANAGO (1902-). Manago, the older brother of artist Armand-Marie Guerin, painted scenes of Mediterranean France and Italy, including Venice, as well as some scenes from the coast of Normandy. This painting has acquired a mellow old layer of soiling, accounting for the yellowish brown tone in the photos. Since the photos were taken I presented this to a professional art restorer for consultation. She did a test cleaning at left sky which indicates the grime can be safely removed. Her estimate for cleaning was $200/250. Buyer can choose to have this performed here or at the restorer of their choosing. Measurements are 15" by 18" plus 2" wide frame. There is an old shipping label from England on the frame.
