A finely painted still life masterpiece, 23" by 28" (31 1/2" by 36 1/2" as framed), circa 1950's, signed at lower left by Hungarian artist ROMEK ARPAD (1883-1960). The work features copper pots and a number of glass vessels, some broken, painted in the artist's signature naturalistic, realistic style. Arpad was born in Budapest and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts there under Ede Bello and Laszlo Hegedus. He is known for his table top still life works in this vein but also painted some landscape and figural works. This painting, fresh from a local estate, bears the label of a 1950's Beverly Hills gallery. Condition is excellent. A cleaning could be desirable but would not be mandatory by any means.
