This is a photolithograph, 21 1/2" by 17" inside the mat window, 28 1/2" by 24 1/4" framed, pencil signed at lower left and with blindstamp there, titled possibly "The Sacred Horse", published by Frost and Reed in England in about the year 1950. The artist, HOVSEP PUSHMAN (1877-1966) is considered a major artist, best known for his still life works incorporating oriental props like ceramic pieces, and his paintings command well into four figures at major New York auctions, with a handful exceeding $100,000, and one over $500,000. His hand signed prints through Frost & Reed were published since the late 1930's and today they are relatively common, allowing many people to appreciate the master's work at an affordable price. According to a wonderful biography of the artist on the site of art dealers Lawrence Cantor & Co., the artist authorized Frost and Reed to publish a series of 29 such prints over the years. This example is from the later part of his career and it is in good condition. Some photos are a little light; darker ones are more accurate. Allow for reflections in a few images.
