A **PAIR** of oil on canvas paintings of spring or early summer landscapes, each measuring 12" by 16" (21" by 26" nicely framed), each signed at lower right by well-listed Czech artist JOSEF PROCHAZKA (1909-1984). These are just lovely works, the fresh greenery of the season beautifully captured by an obviously talented artist. Prochazka's major, large works have actually exceeded $100,000 at auctions in Europe. For many years he was represented in America by the prestigious Arnot Gallery of New York. These works are in excellent condition overall; one has a slight pressure dimple/trough (for want of a better word) at upper left in the sky. Frames have slight wear but are quite complementary. Today the artist's son Jan continues the tradition of fine painting.
