Watercolor on paper drawing of deciduous trees along a creek in a peaceful eastern forest landscape, (19 1/2" by 29 1/2" and 25 1/2" by 35 1/2" framed), signed at lower left "G H Flavelle" (GEOFF H. FLAVELLE, 1868-1945, also known as George H. Flavelle). This is a clean, wall-ready work by a listed artist who hailed from Pennsylvania. Flavelle's works include landscape, woodland interiors, cottage scenes and Dutch windmill scenes. He was a china and glass painter at some times in his career. Flavelle was a student at the Art Students League in New York City, and his works were exhibited in Buffalo, New York City, and Brooklyn. In addition he was represented at department stores in the Northeast and by some fine galleries. A talented watercolorist, his paintings are undervalued by the market. Frame has an unusual, quality look of Arts and Crafts style hammered copper (but it is not copper). Allow for reflections in some images.
